USCIS recently updated its procedures to help clear the backlogs to work authorizations (EAD cards) by discontinuing the issuance of the EAD/Advanced Parole card. Previously, a noncitizen could obtain one card that held the travel document AND the work authorization. However, with the pandemic and ensuing backlogs, the decision to separately process each document occurred. See below for more information and what to expect if you are waiting for a work authorization and advanced parole.
